When you work for someone else as an employee you are not working on your own terms. When you are self employed you set your own hours and rate you charge out at! Being self employed doesn't mean you can do everything always just as you want to, you still need to be sensitive to your customers or clients needs and wants.
Be sure you have thought it through when you decide to be self employed. You are in control. If you are lazy nothing will happen. If you are inflexible you will be frustrated and nothing will happen. If you are only money hungry and not focused on customer satisfaction nothing will happen. Making money on your terms still means you need to follow some basic rules of commerce, and when you follow these rules you will be making money on your terms.
